ABOUT ME

Hi, my name is Maria Ambarina Arevalo Medellin also known as Amber Arevalo. I was born in Monterrey, Mexico and moved to the USA where I became a Florida girl around 10 years old. As a little kid I knew my dream was to be a professional actress, singer and dancer. I took dance classes since I was 4 years old and joined my elementary school choir where my passion grew stronger and stronger. In Fort Lauderdale, Florida I joined a Ballet and Dance company and trained in all styles of dance for 8 years. In my sophomore year of high school I auditioned for my first musical, Annie where I got the role of Pepper. From this moment I became OBSESSED with musical theatre. Ever since then I continued to perform in musicals at school and at Florida Children’s theatre. For college, I auditioned and attended Viterbo University’s BFA musical theatre program with a dance minor and will be graduating may of 2024. To push myself further, I also joined my college dance team and competed in hip hop with them for three years. During College, a few of my favorite roles I got to play were Nina in In the Heights and Sandy in Grease at Summerstock Austin. I finished my senior year by leading my university’s production of 42nd St as Peggy Sawyer. I’ve also spent summers working as a choreographer for various children’s productions and continue to teach dance privates of all styles.

When not performing, I love to spend time with my family, friends, Adam, and my kitty, Apollo. One of my favorite things to do is swim in the ocean back home and lay in the sun.

I believe in love, kindness, laughing till you cry and positively impacting our world. As a friend, I will uplift you, encourage you, and try to make you laugh. I strive to live my life as authentically as I can and hope to positively impact the lives of others.

Thank you for learning a bit about my journey so far!
